Lets talk about the Gibson Les Paul. There are few guitars as iconic and instantly recognisable than the Gibson Les Paul model. Introduced to market in 1952, the Les Paul was designed by Ted McCarty, John Huis and the legendary guitarist and the guitar's namesake - Les Paul. The guitar originally sported a Mahogany body and neck, a Gold metallic finish to the face of the instrument and two single coil P-90 pickups and a trapeze tail-piece. In 1958 the gold finish made way for a figured Maple top, complemented by a Sunburst finish, Stop-tail bridge and two Hum-bucking pickups made gave the guitar it's unique characteristics and powerful tone. These new, improved Les Paul models are now lovingly referred to as 'Bursts' and were produced in limited numbers between 1958 and 1960. Original 'Burst' models now fetch six-figure sums and are considered by many to be the Holy Grail of Electric Guitars.

The Les Paul model of today shares many of the same features found on the original model, a testament to their original design.
