Gibson Les Paul Junior, Vintage Tobacco Burst Overview

Gibson Les Paul Junior, Vintage Tobacco Burst

A hugely successful 2019 NAMM show has cemented the fact that Gibson are back in a very big way and here to stay! Taking feedback from players, consumers and retailers they have gone back to their roots and redesigned the range from the ground up to offer you the very best of Gibson. The brand new Gibson Original Collection is exactly that, no nonsense, no frills, just pure Gibson tone and playability with fantastic build quality.

The new Les Paul Junior Tobacco Burst returns to the classic design that made it relevant, played and loved -- shaping sound across generations and genres of music. It pays tribute to Gibson's Golden Era of innovation and brings authenticity back to life. Introduced as an affordable option for students and beginners in 1954, the Les Paul Junior has been embraced by musicians for over 60 years. The single cutaway slab mahogany body, single dogear P-90 pickup, single volume and tone controls all add up to a whole lot of guitar which is greater than the sum of its parts. The fat 50's-style neck profile and wraparound bridge add to the equation for rock solid tone.

Gibson Les Paul Junior.....Excellent reissue, the only negative issue is that the single, dog-eared, P90 pickup is placed much closer to the rap-around bridge than on a 1950s original. So close, in fact, that when I re-strung the guitar, I had to remove the tailpiece unit to fit the 'top' E string, because the string 'nipple' would not physically fit between the tailpiece and the cover of the pickup.....
