Introducing the SG Standard '61, a return to the classic design that not only made it relevant but also established its place as a beloved instrument — shaping sound across generations and spanning diverse genres of music. And now, it's available in attention-grabbing custom colours! Back in 1961, the Les Paul model took a hiatus, paving the way for an all-new design that eventually evolved into what we know today as the SG or "solid guitar." The Gibson SG Standard '61 proudly retains the styling of the original model, showcasing a SlimTaper mahogany neck and a bound rosewood fingerboard. Its mahogany body features deeply sculpted body scarfing, a 5-ply teardrop pickguard, and a 22nd-fret neck joint. The nickel-plated hardware complements its design with a classic-style Tune-O-Matic bridge and Keystone tuners. The SG Standard '61 is equipped with 60s Burstbucker humbuckers that deliver a classic voice coupled with additional power and top-end clarity. Controls are tailored with audio taper potentiometers and Orange Drop capacitors for precision and tonal finesse. As an added convenience, a hardshell case is included, ensuring your instrument stays protected wherever your musical journey takes you.
