Sequential Trigon-6 Desktop Module Overview
The Sequential Trigon-6 Desktop Module is a compact six-voice analogue synthesizer with a classic ladder filter per voice, onboard studio-quality effects, MPE and Poly Chain compatibility with the Trigon-6 keyboard.
With the Trigon-6 desktop, Sequential have condensed the immense sound and inviting, tweak-friendly controls of the acclaimed keyboard version into a compact synth module. All-Analogue
The Trigon-6 is Sequential’s take on the iconic 3 oscillators and a ladder filter design. If you’re looking for rich, creamy synth sounds, the Trigon-6 has them in spades. Like the Prophet-6 and OB-6, the Trigon-6 features an all-analogue signal path (with the onboard digital effects switched off) and discrete components, ensuring that unmistakably organic analogue synth warmth.
3 Oscillators and a Ladder Filter
Each of the Trigon-6 desktop module’s voices features three voltage-controlled oscillators with triangle, saw and pulse waves that can be combined as you see fit. Truly massive sounds can be created by using all three waveforms at once. The VCOs are shaped by an enhanced version of the ladder filter found in the Sequential Pro 3. This versatile low-pass filter boasts a switchable 2/4 resonant design with dedicated drive and feedback controls, letting you go from silky smooth to all-out aggression with ease.
Shape Your Sound
Sequential have loaded the Trigon-6 with their essential sound-shaping features, including fast, punchy envelopes, a tempo-syncable LFO with multiple waveforms and routings, a polyphonic step sequencer and a multi-mode arpeggiator. The Trigon-6 desktop module’s knob-per-function design makes sound design quick and inspiring.
Once you’ve created a patch, you can store it to one of the 500 user preset slots. Looking for inspiration? There are also 500 factory presets, including pads, leads, basses and sound effects, that have been specially created by leading sound designers for Sequential.
Dual Effects Slots
The Sequential Trigon-6 desktop module is equipped with two effects slots that can be saved per patch. It’s like having two stereo multi-effects pedals connected. All the classic synth-enhancing effects are present, including three studio-quality reverb modes, two types of delay, chorus, flanger, phaser and ring modulation. Effects can also be stacked. For example, you can tempo sync two delays to create cascading, rhythmic patches.
A 100% analogue stereo distortion completes the Trigon-6’s onboard effects. With a single knob, you can quickly inject some crunch and dirt into your patches.
Instant Vintage
First debuted in the Prophet-5 Rev 4, the Trigon-6 desktop module features Sequential’s Vintage knob. This accurately emulates the per-voice differences that give vintage synths their organic and warm character. You can dial in as much as or little voice-to-voice instability as you want, letting you transition from a perfect modern synthesizer to an older one that’s loosely calibrated and wonky.
