Browse our Range

A Squier Stratocaster is the most affordable way to experience the iconic electric guitar’s crisp, articulate tone, inviting playability and sleek retro-futuristic looks.

The Fender Stratocaster is one of the most popular and beloved solidbody electric guitar models ever conceived. The Strat guitar debuted back in 1954 and was a revolution in guitar design. Its design has largely unchanged decades later. Since the Stratocaster hit the guitar market, it’s gone on to be used on countless classic records and favoured by true guitar legends such as Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Nile Rodgers, Jeff Beck, Robert Cray, George Harrison, David Gilmour, Mark Knopfler and many, many others.

Today, modern Fender Stratocasters are made in Japan, Mexico or the United States at Fender’s Corona factory. However, for many guitarists, a Fender Strat may be out of their budget. That’s where Squier comes in. If you’re looking for an affordable Stratocaster, Squier is a great choice. Fender’s entry-level brand is the only company aside from Fender that can make genuine Stratocasters.

From the beginner-friendly Squier Affinity series to limited-edition Squire FSR models to the vintage-inspired Classic Vibe series, there are Squier Stratocaster guitars for every kind of player. If you’re having trouble choosing with Squier Strat is right for you, head down to our Brighton store, where our friendly and knowledgeable guitar experts will set you up with any model you want to try. Are Squier Stratocasters good?

Whilst Squier Stratocasters are more affordable than their Fender-brand siblings, they are still well-made, high-quality electric guitars that have the Strat’s essential features. In fact, many professional guitarists prefer and gig with Squier Stratocasters.

Because Squier Stratocasters are mass-produced, they may arrive in need of setting up before they play their best. If you’re a beginner guitarist, we recommend getting ahold of some tools and learning how to set up an electric guitar or taking your Squier Stratocaster to an experienced luthier. With some fresh strings and proper set-up, your guitar will feel and sound its best.

What are the different Squier Stratocaster models?

Squier Bullet Stratocaster

A Squire Bullet series Stratocaster is the most affordable way to own a genuine Strat. They’re one of our best-selling starter guitars and perfect for guitarists who want a quality guitar on a tight budget. Many of these models feature an easy-to-maintain hardtail bridge and position inlays so you can easily navigate the Indian Laurel fretboard.

Squier Affinity Stratocaster

The Squier Affinity range is a step up from the Bullet series, featuring upgraded pickups and higher-grade tonewoods. Select Squier Affinity guitar models boast an Alder body, the same tonewood as Fender models. Sealed die-cast tuning machines with split shafts ensure rock-solid tuning stability.

Some Squier Affinity series Strats feature the classic arrangement of three single-coil pickups and others are available with humbuckers. HSS models swap their bridge single-coils for humbuckers to give you the best of both worlds. HH models feature two humbuckers with no middle pickups. A humbucker pickup’s tone is warm, fat and punchy - perfect for overdriven Rock and Metal tones.

Squier Contemporary Stratocaster

The Squier Contemporary series is one of Squier’s higher-end ranges and is comprised of slick, hot-rodded guitars with sculpted neck heels for easy upper fret access. Many Squier Contemporary Stratocasters feature satin-feel Roasted Maple necks, hot humbuckers and double-locking tremolo systems that are primed for wild whammy bar action. If you’re a Rock or Metal player that’s looking for a high-performance instrument, this is the Squier Stratocaster for you.

Squier Classic Vibe Stratocaster

The Squier Classic Vibe series is the other high-end Squier range of electric guitars. Drawing inspiration from Fender’s sought-after fifties, sixties and seventies, the Classic Vibe series delivers vintage Fender charm at an attainable price point.
