Epiphone B.B. King Lucille, Ebony Overview

The Epiphone B.B. King Lucille is part of the Artist Collection, which features models inspired by or made in collaboration with guitars of popular musicians. The Epiphone B.B. King Lucille draws inspiration from the many different Gibson ES models that legendary blues guitarist B.B. King played throughout the years, which were all called ‘Lucille’. This is a great model for those who want to get the same, smooth, bluesy tones at an affordable price.

The Epiphone B.B. King Lucille has a semi-hollow ES-335 body that’s made from a 5-ply Layered Maple body, and it also has a Maple centre block to reduce feedback. There are also no f-holes in the body, which was requested by B.B. King on his original models in order to reduce feedback.

The neck is also made from durable Maple and has a comfortable ‘rounded C’ profile. The fretboard is made from durable ebony with 22 medium jumbo frets and a 12” radius. It also has an Epiphone LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge, TP-6 Stop Bar with Fine Tuners, which lets you fine-tune any string quickly and easily thanks to micro-adjustment tuners and carefully crafted gears and saddles. There are also Grover Rotomatic tuners with keystone buttons for increased tuning stability.

For pickups, it has a pair of Alnico Classic PRO humbuckers wired to CTS potentiometers, a 6-position Varitone switch, which is a circuit that acts as a notch filter to reduce frequencies at certain points on the frequency spectrum. There’s also stereo and mono output jacks for maximum flexibility.

The Epiphone B.B. King Lucille’s stunning looks are completed with Pearloid block inlays, a brass truss rod cover engraved with B.B. King’s name, a mother of pearl ‘Lucille’ inlay on the headstock, gold hardware, an ES-335 style tortoise pickguard, a gloss finish, and an EpiLite case.
