Danelectro DGB56 '56 Baritone, Gloss Black Overview
Danelectro was the first company to sell the electric baritone guitar in the late ‘50s, and the '56 Baritone pays tribute to that era. Some baritone guitars have a 25.5” scale, but this model has a 29.75” scale to deliver a guitar-meets-bass tone.
The Danelectro DGB56 Vintage ‘56 Baritone Electric Guitar has a lightweight masonite body with a laminated wood frame. The neck has a C-shaped profile and is made from maple, and is topped with a rosewood fingerboard with 24 frets.
The Danelectro DGB56 Vintage ‘56 Baritone features a pair of lipstick single-coil pickups. The neck is great for bass-heavy grooves on the low B string, and the bridge pickup engages a biting twang sound that’s more like a traditional guitar sound. Using the pickup selector is like switching between bass and guitar, and in the middle position, it runs both pickups together for increased output to deliver overdriven tones.
The DGB56 Vintage ‘56 Baritone is completed with chrome hardware and is available in Dark Aqua, Gloss Black, Metallic Red and Vintage White.
The DGB56 is great for those who want a balance between a bass and guitar - it lets you thicken your sound and flesh out live performances.
