First up, don't buy this gauge if your fingers or guitar aren't ready for it! My guitars are all set up for CAEGGC or thereabouts – though I don't play metal; I just like the fullness of the tuning – so the EXL148 is the ideal set of strings for me.
The strings are very durable and keep their brightness for longer than any other I've tried.
That's pretty much it. Buy these if you play low and loud and your guitars are set up for them. Otherwise best stick to a more conventional set such as Ernie Ball's Heavy Bottom Skinny Top.
