The Yamaha FG series, first introduced in 1966, redefined the acoustic guitar by proving that exceptional quality and tone could be accessible to everyone. Known for its superb playability, rich tonal character, and outstanding craftsmanship, the original FG180 became a staple for countless musicians, serving as the foundation for careers and hit records alike.
Fifty years later, Yamaha continues this legacy with a new range of FG guitars, offering the finest FG tone ever produced. These guitars maintain the same exceptional playability and renowned quality that have made the series a favorite among millions of players. Wherever your musical journey begins, it can start with an FG. This model features a traditional Western body style, enhanced by mahogany back and sides for a warmer, more resonant sound.
The cream plastic binding on the body and fingerboard adds a refined touch, giving the guitar a sophisticated and upgraded look. The instrument is built with a solid spruce top, paired with mahogany for the back and sides, and a nato neck. The fingerboard and bridge are crafted from walnut, adding durability and tonal richness. It has a 25 9/16-inch scale length with a nut width of 1 11/16 inches, providing a comfortable playing experience.
The guitar features die-cast chrome tuners for reliable tuning stability and a gloss finish on the body, while the neck is finished in matte for smooth playability. Both the nut and saddle are made from urea, ensuring excellent sound transfer and sustain.
The Yamaha FG is a timeless choice that combines tradition with innovation, delivering a guitar that is as enjoyable to play as it is reliable.
It has been set up, restrung and deep-cleaned by our second-hand department and does not include a gig bag or hard case.
