The Taylor GT Urban Ash blends a compact design with exceptional playability and tonal richness. Featuring Taylor’s Grand Theater body shape, the instrument combines the broad tonal range of the Grand Orchestra with a smaller, more accessible build. The GT body is slightly deeper than Taylor’s GS Mini but shallower than the Grand Concert, making it a portable and versatile option.
The GT Urban Ash uses responsibly sourced Urban Ash for the back and sides, providing a warm and punchy midrange complemented by a solid Sitka spruce top for enhanced projection and clarity. Taylor’s innovative C-Class bracing design enhances the bass response and overall resonance while maintaining a balanced tonal character across the frequency spectrum. The guitar features a tropical mahogany neck with a 24-1/8” scale length, offering a slinky, low-tension feel that is comfortable for extended play.
The smoked eucalyptus fingerboard provides a smooth playing surface, and its tonal properties mirror ebony. High-quality appointments include Pinnacle inlays crafted from Italian acrylic, a koa rosette, and a matte Urban Sienna finish on the ash back and sides, adding to its aesthetic appeal. Practicality is further enhanced with Taylor nickel mini tuners, a Black Tusq nut, and a Micarta saddle, ensuring precise intonation and tuning stability.
