Strymon Big Sky MX Dual-Engine IR Reverb Pedal Overview
One Verb to Rule Them All: Introducing the BigSky MX from Strymon
The BigSky MX by Strymon is a next-generation reverb workstation that redefines the landscape of dedicated reverb pedals. Enhancing a beloved classic like the original BigSky was no small feat, given its long-standing reputation on professional pedalboards, but after four years of meticulous development, we’ve achieved just that. The BigSky MX boasts a larger, more expansive sound with unrivalled expressiveness, alongside a plethora of innovative features that establish it as the new pinnacle of reverb technology.
This world-class reverberator is housed in a single enclosure, leveraging a tri-core 800 MHz ARM processor to support the simultaneous operation of two reverb engines. Whether employing Series, Parallel, or Split audio routing, the BigSky MX offers unprecedented sonic versatility. Among its 12 reverb machines, seven are entirely new, while classic models receive substantial sonic and feature enhancements. Notably, the convolution engine can handle ten-second stereo impulse responses, allowing for comprehensive editing of IRs. Additionally, the unit comes preloaded with 22 carefully curated impulse responses, including extensive captures of iconic analogue studio equipment.
