Steinberger Spirit GT-PRO Deluxe Outfit, Hot Rod Yellow Overview

Steinberger Spirit GT-PRO Deluxe Overview by GAK:

Nothing looks like a Steinberger and nothing performs like one either! The Spirit GT-Pro guitar features the same distinctive body-shape as the award-winning Steinberger GL Series and features the trademark "headless" design with the patented Double-Ball tuning system. Add to that, a 3-piece hard Maple neck going completely through the body reinforced with an adjustable truss rod and this guitar is extremely stable.

Steinberger necks provide players slightly extended spacing at the upper frets and can maintain incredibly accurate intonation under intense shredding. With no headstock, the GT-PRO has a Zero Nut Fret with a width of 1.625 that moves up to 2.04” at the 12th fret as the neck subtly widens to 0.42” string spacing at the bridge. The bridge has steel saddles with Steinberger’s patented R-Trem™ Locking Tremolo and 40:1 Ratio Direct-Pull tuning systems. Unlocked, the R-Trem is capable of extreme dive-bombing as well as pull-ups. Locked, the R-Trem acts like a fixed bridge. Since there is no headstock, the weight of the GT-PRO feels more balanced than a typical guitar. Fine tuning adjustments are made at the bridge and string changes can be made fast! The Steinberger GT-PRO is set up at the factory with Steinberger DoubleBall™ 10-46 strings. Plus, with the Single Ball string adopter, you can set also set up the GT-PRO with regular strings.

The Steinberger GT-PRO is powered by Steinberger’s versatile humbucker pickups in the neck (HB-2) and bridge (HB-1) positions along with full-range Steinberger SC-1 single coil pick up in the middle position. Controls include Master Volume, Master Control, and a 5-way pickup selector. There's also a folding leg rest for playing comfort while sitting. And the GT-Pro is perhaps the world's most "travel-friendly" and convenient guitar ever made. It comes complete with a gigbag and, despite having a full 25.5" scale length is only 30" in length and even fits in most airplane overhead luggage compartments. If you're on a budget but still need and want an instrument with Steinberger features and performance, the Spirit GT-Pro is perfect for you.

Very nice quality for the price. It's compact size makes excellent to travel with, without compromising on playability. The neck is smooth and the frets perfectly finished. The pickups sounds clean, clear and noiseless, they work really well with overdrive, distortion and fuzz pedals, lots of clarity and dynamic. Only personal criticism is the tuning wheels are hard to turn with fingers, best to use a allen key to operate. Keeps in tune even after long time playing and using the trem. Great guitar I use for everyday use and travel, its lightweight and compact size has inspired me to used daily.

Really great solution for a travel guitar, have it with me in the hotel now. I looked at the traveller series, but this apparently has better tuning stability and it is incredibly stable. It really is a full electric guitar in a really small, stable package. Needed setting up, but this is incredibly easy on this guitar, a few turns of an Allan key and I was there, took about 20 minutes all in all. Good intonation now and still is tune after a day long train journey in and out of the cold. Great having three pickup choices and full tone / vol controls. Only downsides are it is relatively heavy (but that makes it balanced) and the QC on the actual wood part of the guitar is pretty terrible, it looks like it missed a step on the production process where they sanded out the rough edges before putting on the finish. But the rest of the guitar makes up for that poor finishing.
