The SSL 12 USB audio interface condenses Studio Stage Logic’s legendary heritage and uncompromising sonic performance into a compact desktop device. SSL 12 can perform as both the centrepiece of your professional or home studio and, thanks to USB bus power, a powerful production hub for remote recording sessions.

Exceptional SSL Preamps

Studio Stage Logic equip their SSL 12 audio interface with four premium SSL-designed mic preamps and professional-quality converters for class-leading dynamic range. As you’d expect from a device created by SSL, these preamps offer exceptional low-noise and high-gain performance. Two onboard studio-grade headphone outputs ensure the SSL 12 can drive the most demanding headphones with ease.

Expand With ADAT

SSL 12 can be expanded with up to eight additional input channels via ADAT, giving you a maximum of twelve inputs. This is ideal if you want to record a live ensemble or intricately mic up a drum kit. The built-in talkback mic help will keep your recording sessions running smoothly. You can route it to headphone output A, headphone output B and line outputs 3 and 4 for extra flexibility when communicating with your artists.

Compact Size, Rackmount Features

SSL 12 pushes the boundaries of what can be expected from a compact audio interface, boasting advanced features such as ADAT connectivity, an onboard talkback microphone and a flexible cue mixer. The cue mixer allows you to make four individual low-latency performer mixes, making it easier to achieve the best performances from your artists. Alternative monitor switching and assignable front panel control functions are ready to make your mixing workflow seamless whilst USB Loopback, MIDI I/O connectivity and DC-coupled outputs for control of your CV-enabled synths and effects are excellent creative tools for production sessions.

Each of SSL 12’s four preamps boast Legacy 4K switching, an all-analogue effect first introduced in the best-selling SSL 2 and SSL 2+. Legacy 4K mode, based on SSL’s
legendary 4000 mixing console, enhances your input sources with the crisp high-frequencies and subtle, finely-tuned harmonic distortion that the SSL 4000-series console is known for. Whether you’re recording vocals or instruments, Legacy 4K mode will colour it with that sought-after SSL sound.

I've hardly used my SSL12 yet, and have yet to install the downloaded software, though i have used it as D-A conversion for audio playback from my Mac. Nevertheless, I CAN say that this audio interface definitely gives me the impression that it's well-designed, well-built and professional; and I don't make that remark just because it says 'Solid State Logic' on the front.

Really nice unit. Super simple to set up and very pleased with the record quality. Able to record 4 tracks simultaneously out of the box but also has the option to add an ADAT given you an extra 8 tracks. I'm very impressed with it so far, you get a lot for your money. I would totally recommend.
