Introducing the DDJ-REV7, the flagship unit from Pioneer DJ’s newest Serato DJ Pro DJ Controller series, REV.

Designed specifically for open-format DJs, the REV7 creates a tactile experience that’s ideal for Serato Pro DJ users. With 2 channels, motorized jogs with on jog displays and a layout emulating a professional DJM-S mixer + PLX turntable set up in a battle mode configuration, the DDJ-REV7 pushes the boundaries of a conventional DJ Controller.

A Turntable + Mixer Layout With The Portability of a DJ Controller

The DDJ REV 7 is the perfect fix for turntablists that need a portable setup, as now there is a one-product solution for this style of DJ performance. Mobile DJs can save on the amount of gear taken to weddings, parties or functions, as the REV 7 delivers everything a DJM-S + PLX setup would offer - and more.

The feel of the 7-inch motorized jogs can be adjusted within Utility Settings between Low or High, so you can scratch with the perfect amount of resistance and torque. The torque can be adjusted further with the use of Slip Sheets, which neatly fit under the platters. As well as the set included, users can purchase their own choice of Slip Sheet if they want a custom feel.

Not only that, the acrylic top plate of each jog has a textured finish to feel just like the surface of vinyl, giving you more grip under your fingertips. What’s even better, the REV7 builds on the traditional turntable experience by allowing you to keep an eye on essential information such as waveforms, Hot Cues and playback positions thanks to the 3.5-inch On Jog Displays.

As well as the feel, the layout has been carefully thought about too. By moving the tempo sliders to the top of each deck section, Turntablists will feel right at home, as everything will be in the position as if they were battling with a pair of turntables. To help Scratch DJs even more, the x8 RGB Performance Pads (per deck) are placed within the mixer section, and 4 additional Pads sit directly above each deck, giving users access to 12 pads per deck. in addition to this, Lever FX paddles can be found in the mixer section too, perfectly mimicking the layout of a DJM-S7 with a PLX Turntable setup, a configuration that is very popular with Battle DJs.

Plus, no scratch mixer would be complete without a MAGVEL Fader. The DDJ-REV7 features the robust MAGVEL FADER PRO, the industry stand crossfader among Scratch DJs. This is the same fader found on the ever-popular DJM-S11.

The DDJ-REV7 revolutionises the turntable format, as it implements all the benefits of using a DJ Controller to those that want the feel of a vinyl player. The benefit of using a DJ controller means that you can utilise the performance/creative capabilities of DJ Software and view more information during your set.

On-Jog Displays

By introducing colour LCD 3.5-inch on-jog displays, DJs can quickly view the following modes:

•Waveform mode
See the overall waveform of the track on that deck, plus the detailed waveforms of the tracks on both decks side-by-side to help you make quick, intuitive adjustments. You’ll also have an eye on the BPM, playback speed (tempo), remaining or elapsed time, a digital marker for the playback point (which you can turn off), and the number of beats in the loop when one is playing.

•Virtual Deck mode
View the virtual deck of Serato DJ Pro and the number of beats to the next Hot Cue point.

•Artwork display
Display the artwork for the track that’s playing.

•DJ Logo display
Display your own logo or favourite image on each deck after using the Image Transfer Tool for PC/Mac to load it onto the DDJ-REV7.

Instant Scratch

In order to stand out from the crowd, the REV 7 comes fully loaded with original samples, that can be triggered via the 4 buttons found above each deck. When using Instant Scratch, a brand new feature never seen before, DJs can add a creative flair to their scratching.

With 4 slots to choose from, the REV7 includes the following sounds:

• Slot 1 - White Noise
• Slot 2 - White Noise + Vocal Sample
• Slot 3 - Voice Sample + Beat Sample
• Slot 4 - Beat Sample

As the sounds are built-in to the DDJ-REV7, you do not need to be connected to a laptop or Serato to use them. You could connect a Turntable and use the Instant Scratch samples standalone. If you are using the full capabilities of the REV7 and Serato DJ Pro, you can use Scratch Bank to load in your own custom samples.

One of the major benefits of using software whilst mixing is that you can utilise the huge collection of internal effects that usually with Serato. You are given the opportunity to explore new sounds and inspire more creative mixes. Dynamically change the sound of your tracks and add drama to your transitions with the plethora of effects that come with Serato DJ Pro, plus a choice of 22 internal Beat FX inside the DDJ-REV7 itself.

There are 6 effects buttons, which control both built-in and software effects. You can also pull the effects levers down and hold them to apply effects from Serato DJ Pro in short bursts, or push them up to lock effects on and free up your hands for scratching or track browsing.

Instantly trigger the effects saved in 4 FX Banks and edit them via the Setting Utility on your PC/Mac. While you’re using one of these effects, you can also trigger up to 6 more from Serato DJ Pro. The DDJ-REV7 also has 5 popular Sound Color FX to experiment with.

New Beat FX:

•Duck Down: A roll effect that fades out while lowering the pitch.
•Fill Out: A roll effect that forms a roll with a changing rhythm pattern and fades out with echo.
•Helix Out: An effect that samples the input sound and repeatedly fades it out like a reverb, while increasing the playback speed and pitch.

Plug-And-Play Compatibility With Serato DJ Pro

The REV7 is designed especially for use with Serato DJ Pro. As soon as you’ve downloaded the software to your PC/Mac, simply connect the DDJ-REV7 via the supplied USB cable and start mixing.
