Ibanez RG421 LTD, Blackberry Sunburst Overview
The RG421 is a stripped-back modern take on one of Ibanez’s most solid ranges. Originally conceived as a simpler version of the Jem over 30 years ago, the RG has always been stripped back in some senses. But the RG421 takes things a step further and distils the RG down to its most fundamental core.
With no Floyd Rose trem/locking nut and a simple pair of humbucking pickups, this is a guitar that’s made for all-out modern rock and metal, and it’s intentionally perfect for down-tuning.
With a mahogany body and a Wizard III neck, it’s clearly built for chunky riffing, yet it’s still comfortable and fast enough for blistering solos. A jatoba 'board with chunky frets add to the riff package and Infinity Series pick-ups, providing dynamic warmth with lots of gnarly harmonics, complete the tone combo. An unbelievable value-for-money guitar.
