Ibanez GRGR221PA Gio, Aqua Burst Overview
The Ibanez GRGR221PA is part of the entry-level GIO range and has a striking Aqua Burst finish with matching headstock. It has a body made from Okoume, which is tonewood from Central Africa - it’s a more lightweight and sustainable alternative to mahogany and produces a full, rich sound with more dynamic range and a brighter high end. The striking finish is largely due to the Poplar Burl Art Grain top. Poplar is lightweight and provides clarity in the midrange and an even tone, while the Burl Art Grain top imitates the Burl effect, which is a swirl style of cut to make the wood look more exotic and similar to the centre of a tree.
It has a Maple neck with a bound Purpleheart fretboard and White Sharktooth shape inlays to complete the eye-catching look of this guitar. It also includes two IBZ-6 pickups at the bridge and neck and all-black hardware.
