Ibanez AUC14-OVL, Open Pore Violin Sunburst Overview
The AU series features a very unique construction method, departing from the conventional build of ukuleles. Instead of being constructed with separate top, sides, and back, the body of the AU begins as a solid block of wood, routed out to form a single piece for the back and sides. A top is then added to complete the body, resulting in instruments with a distinctive sound and brilliant playability. The AUC14 incorporates special features such as a Stereo Sound Port, Elevated Comfort Armrest, and Edgeless Comfort Heel.
Product Features:
Okoume Neck: The Okoume neck provides greater playing comfort.
Purpleheart Fretboard: The Purpleheart fretboard emphasizes the instrument’s beauty and rich tonal character.
Sapele Top: The Sapele top delivers a warm, full tone.
Solid Paulownia Back and Sides: The lightweight Paulownia back and sides offer a well-balanced tone with superior note definition and added brightness.
Purpleheart Double Hole Bridge: The double hole bridge simplifies string changes, eliminating the need to bend the strings or tie a knot at the end. This design also helps maintain correct string tension, enhancing tuning stability.
Gig Bag Included: It comes with an Ibanez gig bag designed specifically to fit and protect this instrument.
Special Features:
Stereo Sound Port System: The dual sound holes on the waist provide a unique surround sound effect, helping players more effectively monitor their sound.
Elevated Comfort Armrest: This Elevated Comfort Armrest prevents your arm from touching the body top, providing richer sound and natural sustain while offering extreme playing comfort.
Beveled Cutaway: The Beveled Cutaway offers exceptional high fret access.
Edgeless Comfort Heel: The Edgeless Comfort Heel is smoothly rounded toward the cutaway, allowing for easy playing in any position.
Chambered Body (Acoustic): The body starts as a solid block of wood and is routed out, so that the back and sides are a single piece. A top is then added to complete the body. This construction method gives this instrument a unique sound.
