Gibson SJ-200 Standard, Wine Red Overview

Introducing the Gibson SJ-200 Standard in a captivating Wine Red finish, a testament to Gibson’s legacy of crafting exceptional acoustic guitars. This Super Jumbo model, renowned for its commanding presence and rich tonal depth, is designed to meet the demands of discerning musicians.

The SJ-200 Standard features a body constructed from premium maple, paired with a AAA Sitka spruce top. This combination delivers a balanced and resonant sound, characterized by clear highs, warm mids, and a robust low end. The traditional hand-scalloped X-bracing enhances the guitar’s projection and sustain, ensuring each note is delivered with clarity and power.

The two-piece maple neck, shaped with a rounded profile, offers a comfortable playing experience across its 25.5-inch scale length. The Indian rosewood fingerboard, with a 12-inch radius and 20 standard frets, is adorned with mother-of-pearl graduated crown inlays, adding a touch of elegance to the instrument’s aesthetics.

Aesthetically, the Wine Red gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish accentuates the guitar’s striking appearance, complemented by gold hardware and a distinctive SJ-200 cream flower pickguard with border and dot detailing. The rosewood “Moustache” bridge with a TUSQ saddle and Grover Rotomatic tuning machines ensure stable tuning and precise intonation.

For amplified performances, the SJ-200 Standard is equipped with the L.R. Baggs Anthem pickup system. This system features soundhole-mounted controls, including volume, mix control (allowing blending between the internal microphone and under-saddle piezo pickup), phase inversion switch, battery check, and microphone level control, providing versatile tonal options to suit various playing environments.
