I installed this as a replacement pickup at the neck on a top-grade Gibson archtop for playing jazz, having experienced original PAFs on an L-5 before. I am very pleased with the result, giving a warm and melodious sound with that slight, positive plop as notes are played, followed by a beautiful bloom in the sustain. The bridge pickup on my guitar is a 57 Classic, and the Custombucker mixes very well with it. The sound and performance of the new pickup is very close to what I found with those wonderful old ones. For this type of music at least, I would highly recommend it.
