Gibson Custom Shop Paul Kossoff 1959 Les Paul Standard Aged, 59 of 100, 2012, Second-Hand Overview
We’re very fortunate to offer this super collectable Gibson Custom Shop Paul Kossoff '59 Les Paul, complete with its original hard case and certificate of authenticity.
This is one of 100 examples built in 2012, and is an exact recreation of the '59 burst that Kossoff used extensively with rock band Free from 1970 until his unfortunate passing in 1976.
Each instrument was individually aged by master luthier Tom Murphy who painstakingly recreated every scratch, ding and blemish on Kossoff’s original guitar. Both Gibson Custombuckers were also designed specifically for this model, based on readings taken from the original PAFs.
With its serial number marked as 059, this guitar is a particularly notable example amongst a very limited run of guitars
It weighs a reasonable 8.8lbs and is in good condition, with some minor natural play wear that's virtually indistinguishable from the factory relicing.
