Gibson 1992 SJ-200, Vintage Sunburst, Second-Hand Overview
A well-toured SJ-200 with some real mojo!
Item in good condition (small marks or scratches)
We currently have a lovely inventory of pre-owned acoustic guitars and this Gibson SJ-200 from 1992 is no exception. This is definitely a well-used example and shows a lovely patina from the past 32 years of hard playing and touring.
The nitrocellulose lacquer has beautifully checked across the top, and has dulled across the shoulders. A fairly sizeable chunk of lacquer has also flaked off the back of the neck (captured in listing photos) though this does not affect the guitar's playability or structural integrity. The guitar has been extensively checked over and is structurally sound!
As standard with the SJ-200, it features maple back and sides which show a beautiful, subtle flame. This is paired with a AAA sitka spruce top. The guitar sounds exactly as you'd imagine from a top-draw SJ-200, there's plenty of bottom end and a pronounced treble presence with clear note separation. Chords sound huge and full, and it also handles fingerpicking with ease. The two-piece maple neck sports a 25.5" scale length and is topped with an Indian rosewood board, adorned with mother of pearl crown inlays. It's a fairly chunky profile but still offers a super comfortable playing experience.
Additional features include the four-bar moustache bridge, gold Kluson deluxe machine heads and an aftermarket LR Baggs M1 passive soundhole pickup which is body sensitive, sounds great and allows you to begin using the guitar at open mics/gigs right away.
The guitar includes its original hard case and comes fully set up by our in-house technician.
