Exceptional Recording Preamps

A hallmark of the Focusrite Clarett interfaces is their Air-enabled and phantom power-equipped preamps. Since the first Clarett, they’ve been consistently praised by both professional and casual users alike for their exceptional clarity and fidelity.

The Clarett+ series is no exception. Each model in the range is equipped with world-class preamps that boast immense headroom, ultra-low noise and low distortion. This allows you to record extremely loud sources (such as drum kits & cranked guitar amps) as well as quieter ones that require high gain (such as intimate vocals & acoustic guitar) with astonishing purity.

Analogue Air

A mainstay of the Clarett series is the all-analogue Air circuitry, which is present and accounted for in every Clarett+ model. When engaged, the relay-controlled Air circuit will authentically reproduce the frequency response, impedance and transparency of the Rupert Neve-designed Focusrite ISA 110 mic preamp from Focusrite’s legendary Studio Console. On a technical level, Air alters the input impedance to 2.2kΩ and introduces an analogue shelf 4dB boost at 24kHz.

It’s the perfect way to instantly give your vocals or other audio sources a studio-quality shine and presence. Air can also add a stronger transient response when used on acoustic guitars and drums.

Upgraded Converters

Focusrite has upgraded the Clarett+ range’s A-D and D-A conversion. With 124dB D-A dynamic range and -110db THD+N on the A-D conversion, you can experience clearer mixes and impressive sonic detail whilst recording.

Expandable

An advantage of the Focusrite Clarett+ series is that it can be adapted to meet the demands of any recording application via the ADAT optical input. Say, for instance, you need additional inputs for a live or multi-tracked session. Simply pair up your Focusrite Clarett+ USB audio interface with another piece of ADAT-compatible gear (such as the Clarett OctoPre) and you’re good to go.

JFET Instrument Inputs
