Introducing the Fender Custom Shop Limited Edition 70th Anniversary 1954 Stratocaster NOS in a captivating Wide-Fade 2-Color Sunburst finish—a masterful tribute to the iconic instrument that revolutionized music seven decades ago. Greg Fessler meticulously crafted this guitar from the essence of the original 1954 Stratocaster, offering both collectors and players an authentic vintage experience.
At its core, the guitar features a two-piece select ash body with an offset seam on the treble side, delivering a resonant tone characterized by singing highs, sweet midrange, and tight lows. The nitrocellulose lacquer finish not only enhances its visual appeal but also allows the wood to breathe, promoting a natural tonal response.
The one-piece quartersawn maple neck is sculpted into a special 70th Anniversary soft “V” profile, replicating a remarkable Strat neck from July 1954. This neck is paired with a vintage compound-radius fingerboard (7.25" to 9.5") and fitted with 21 medium vintage (47095) frets, facilitating comfortable chording and effortless bending across the fretboard.
Sonically, the instrument is equipped with three Custom Shop hand-wound '54 Strat single-coil pickups, delivering the quintessential Stratocaster sound with clear, bell-like highs and articulate lows. The vintage '54 Strat wiring, complete with a wax paper capacitor and five-way switching, provides a versatile tonal palette suitable for various musical genres.
Authentic period-correct appointments include a single-ply white pickguard, 1954-style ABS white pickup covers and control knobs, a Custom Shop vintage synchronized tremolo bridge, vintage-style tuners, and a disc string tree. The 70th Anniversary Stratocaster neck plate and serial-numbered backplate add exclusive commemorative touches to this limited-edition model.
