Fender Blues Junior, Lacquered Tweed, Jensen Overview

Fender's 15-watt Blues Junior Lacquered Tweed is a warm-toned amplifier perfect for both gigging and studio use.

The EL-84 output tubes provide fat mid tones while warmth is provided by the 12AX7 preamp tube overdrive. There is also real spring reverb.

You'll find easier-to-read black control panel with front-reading text, a vintage Fender "dog bone" handle, vintage-size jewel light, "sparkle" circuit mod, rattle-reducing shock absorbers for the EL84 tubes, highly sensitive vintage-voiced 12" Jensen speaker, and heavy-duty set-screw "chicken head" knobs. Here's a clip of the regular Blues Junior, which is exactly the same under the hood.

Fender Product Overview

The Blues Jr. Lacquered Tweed takes Fender's 15W gem and gives it the true vintage treatment with a lacquered tweed covering and a vintage-voiced 12" Jensen speaker. Its golden tones are generated by an all-tube signal path using a pair of EL84 output tubes and 3 - 12AX7 preamp tubes. Add renowned Fender reverb, flexible controls, FAT switch for mid boost, and you're in business. And just look at that chrome panel, that tweed finish with vintage-style brown and gold grille cloth, and those vintage pointer knobs!

The Blues Junior is a 15-watt warm-toned, longtime favourite the perfect grab-and-go tube amp for stage and studio. It is known for the fat mid tones characteristic of EL-84 output tubes, warm 12AX7 preamp tube overdrive, real spring reverb, simple control layout, foot switchable FAT boost and external speaker capability.

Excellent small valve amplifier with a good range of sounds adjustable from the EQ controls. Good sturdy construction and quite heavy to move about, my only criticism is not having a mains input socket so the mains cable has to be stowed in the bottom of the cabinet underneath the speaker and on top of the reverb tank, not the best idea Fender. Apart from my criticism very happy with the amp and sound.
