Epiphone Jack Casady Bass, Sparkling Burgundy Overview

Epiphone Jack Casady Bass - Sparkling Burgundy

Overview: The Epiphone Jack Casady Signature Bass in Sparkling Burgundy is a standout instrument developed in collaboration with Jack Casady, the legendary bassist of Jefferson Airplane and Hot Tuna. This signature bass reflects Casady’s decades-long pursuit of an instrument that delivers both the depth and warmth of an acoustic bass and the precise, powerful tone of an electric bass.

Key Features:

  • Body and Construction:

    • Semi-Hollow Body: The semi-hollow design combines the resonant qualities of an acoustic bass with the clear, focused sound of an electric bass, resulting in a full-bodied tone with excellent sustain and character.
    • Sparkling Burgundy Finish: The eye-catching Sparkling Burgundy finish gives the bass a bold, luxurious appearance, making it as visually striking as it is sonically impressive.
  • Neck and Fingerboard:

    • Maple Neck: The maple neck provides a stable platform for the bass, contributing to its bright and articulate sound.
    • Rosewood Fingerboard: The smooth rosewood fingerboard offers a warm tone and comfortable playability, making it ideal for both intricate lines and solid grooves.
    • 34” Scale Length: The standard scale length ensures familiar string tension and feel, accommodating a wide range of playing styles.
  • Electronics:

    • JCB-1 Low-Impedance Pickup: The Casady-designed JCB-1 low-impedance pickup is the heart of this bass, delivering a wide frequency response with rich clarity and dynamic range, capturing everything from deep, rounded lows to crisp, articulate highs.
    • Three-Position Rotary Impedance Switch: This unique feature allows players to select from three different impedance settings, providing a wide tonal palette. Whether you need a deep, mellow sound or a bright, punchy tone, this bass has you covered.
  • Hardware:

    • High-Quality Tuners and Bridge: The tuners and bridge are designed for reliability, ensuring stable tuning and precise intonation, essential for both live performances and studio work.

Bought 28/12 now 08/01 so only gigged with it twice, but it felt great to play and sounded soooo good. The pumping, booming, woody round sound of its lows were perfect for the Old Soul, Motown and sixties vibe of the band I played with. Got everyone bouncing and attracted so many eyes from the pit. Not for thrash, metal but great for just about anything else. I absolutely love this bass which sits in my bass for life space and would be happy paying twice what I did, great value for money. I'll never be without a Jack Casady Bass

Lovely mellow tones, light and looks great.Wanted something slightly different to my Jazz and Precision Bass' and this is exactly that. Even my wife says it's a good looking Bass.
