Epiphone Emperor Swingster, Delta Blue Metallic Overview

The Emperor Swingster is a hollow body guitar that’s great for playing various genres of music, whether it’s rockabilly, jazz, blues, early rock ‘n’ roll, country, and more… It has a layered maple body which delivers more acoustic-like qualities as well as more definition, and a mahogany SlimTaper neck making it more comfortable to play and some more mid-range warmth. It’s topped with a 22-fret Indian laurel fretboard for extra resonance. It also has a LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge on a pinned wooden base for increased tuning stability, and a licensed Bigsby vibrato tailpiece with a wire handle, great for getting those subtle, slow bends with little force.

For pickups, it has two medium-output Epiphone Swingbuckers each with their own volume and tone controls and a 3-way toggle switch, providing balanced lows, thick mids and singing highs, and are great for playing a range of styles of music.

To complete the Emperor Swingster are Grover rotomatic tuners, block inlays, nickel hardware, a silver pickguard with the Epiphone ‘E’ logo, black ‘top hat’ knobs with metal inserts to complement the finish, a striking ‘Tree of Life’ inlay on the headstock, 7-ply top and back binding to accentuate the cool Delta Blue Metallic finish.

Overview by Epiphone

The Epiphone Emperor Swingster™ is a way-cool guitar that excels in a wide range of genres, including jazz, blues, rockabilly, country and rock. This hollowbody has a 5-ply layered maple body, mahogany neck with a comfortable and fast-playing SlimTaper™ profile, Indian laurel fretboard with block inlays, mother of pearl Epiphone and Tree of Life inlays on the large Clipped Dove Wing headstock, Grover® Rotomatic® tuning machines, and two Epiphone SwingBucker™ pickups, each with a dedicated volume and tone control. Push/pull switches are built into each volume control to provide series/parallel switching for the pickups, and along with the 3-way toggle pickup selector switch, give you a broad selection of tonal options. The LockTone™ Tune-O-Matic™ bridge is mounted on a pinned wooden base so it won’t move out of place when you use the licensed Bigsby® vibrato with wire handle. Available in Forest Green Metallic with gold hardware, or Black Aged Gloss and Delta Blue Metallic finishes with nickel hardware.

Absolutely fantastic instrument! Low action, light strings, and very easy to play. Even when it isn’t plugged into an amp, it sounds crisp and resonant. And when it’s plugged in (I use a Fender Mustang Micro), it sounds smooth and beautiful. And to top it off, it looks stunning! An absolute gem of a guitar.
