The Deering Sierra banjo stands as the flagship of Deering's line due to its premium construction. It features a violin-grade maple 3-ply rim, an -06- tone ring, a one-piece zinc flange, a notched tension hoop, the Deering tailpiece, and an armrest. These elements are consistent across Deering's range of banjos. Exceptions include the Golden Era with a different zinc flange, the Hartford with a Grenadillo wood tone ring, the Terry Baucom with a lighter -06- tone ring, and the Tenbrooks featuring a Swiss Jens Kruger tone ring.
