As Cort’s vision of the modern acoustic-electric, the SFX Series features Cort’s own unique slim body shape (83-83mm) with comfortable cutaway, modern V-shape neck profile and jumbo frets for enhanced playability, arched back for improved resonance, and Fishman electronics. The use of exotic wood Myrtlewood gives SFX Myrtlewood a unique look that stands out from the rest of the series while enabling it to produce a bright, clear sound and projection.

Oregon Myrtle, also known as California Bay Laurel or Pepperwood, ranges in colour from blonde-yellow to taupe and makes very nice guitars. No two sets look alike, thus each guitar built is an original! Tonally it is similar to Maple, clear and bright with nice projection, but it is much easier to bend than Maple.

A vintage instrument is the holy grail of acoustic guitar tone. The wood on the top cures and opens up more over time. This unleashes a tonal quality that is missing in new instruments — until now. Using a special process that we call ATV (Aged To Vintage) we treat the solid Myrtlewood top to give it that big and open tone of a decades-old, highly-sought-after acoustic. This torrefaction process delivers that amazing tone to you right out of the box.

The high-tech finish is strong and resistant to scratches while being lightweight to improve the natural acoustic resonance of the body for a full-bodied and rich tone.

The Fishman Presys II Preamp with 2-band equalization, built-in tuner and a Phase switch for effective tone shaping and noiseless operation during live performances.

The slim 83mm*83mm depth body was designed with playing comfort in mind. The arched back compensates for the shallower depth to provide a bigger and more open sound.

This exclusive neck shape facilitates ease of fingering and high-speed soloing, especially in the high register near the cutaway.
