Akai Professional MPC One Standalone Music Production Centre Overview
Akai’s universally-acclaimed MPC One is one of our best sellers, delivering a truly inspiring workflow inside of a portable and powerful piece of hardware. Equipped with a wealth of connectivity and jam-packed with features, the standalone MPC One is a surefire way to invigorate your production sessions.
All In One
Akai have managed to condense the full standalone production capabilities of a much larger MPC into the One, packing all the features you need to create unique beats and arrangements into a compact form factor. Everything you need is right at your fingertips, including high-quality instruments & effects, flexible editing & mixing tools, slick beat programming and tonnes more.
Content For Days
Within the MPC One, Akai provides a wealth of content to use in your productions and spark your creativity. You’ve got top-notch synthesizer engines such as Tubesynth, Electric and Bassline. Versatile mixing and mastering tools including AIR FX - the perfect way to add polish. That’s not all, as the MPC One also boasts an impressive library of loops and drum samples from boundary-pushing sound designers the likes of MVP Loops, Decap MSX Sound Design, F9, RawCutz and more.
With Update 2.9, Akai bestowed the MPC One and its siblings with the astounding DrumSynth. This is a significant asset to the One’s feature-set, as it adds a jaw-dropping arsenal of 8 synth engines which power 9 Drum Synth plug-ins. Utilising a potent combination of sample-based algorithms, FM synthesis, physical & analogue modelling, the DrumSynth is ready to ignite your music.
Max Power
It takes a significant amount of processing power to achieve what the Akai MPC One is capable of. That’s why the One has been equipped with a powerful multi-core processor (identical to the one found in its larger sibling, the MPC X) which can handle the most rigorous and demanding production sessions without breaking a sweat.
Incredible Software
The MPC One is driven by Akai’s upgraded MPC 2 software when used in standalone and controller mode. It’s a complete and cutting edge production suite within the MPC One, which features a massive 128 tracks of sequencing capabilities, Live-style clip-launching, on-the-fly time stretching and advanced MIDI, sample & audio editing. The One is a highly capable controller in its own right, with the ability to control VSTs and tightly integrate with your DAW of choice.
Immediate & Intuitive Workflow
Because of the MPC One’s intuitive design and layout, the workflow is truly effortless. The MPC One presents an immediate and tactile creative experience, with a crisp 7" touchscreen colour display that allows you to quickly slice up samples with a simple hand gesture and an array of robust touch keys & knobs that are directly assigned to key functions. The MPC One’s 4 touch-sensitive controls and chunky data encoder automatically map themselves to essential parameters, which makes rapid adjustments a breeze.
Any device that bears the hallowed MPC name that’s worth its salt needs quality pads and the One’s certainly deliver. With 16 velocity and pressure-sensitive pads at your disposal, you can enhance your beats with the groove and expression that the classic MPC units were known. All the iconic MPC performance features are present, such as Full Level, Half Level, 16 Levels and Note Repeat.
The icing on the cake is the Transport Controls, which provide you with instant access to punch-ins, overdubbing and track playback.
With the MPC One, you can say goodbye to irritating drop-down menus and hello to a seamlessly fun way of creating music.
Studio Connectivity
Whilst the MPC One can function as a completely independent production centre, it’s also primed to interact with the rest of your studio setup and other hardware devices. You can hook up mono or stereo line-level 1/4" instruments including guitars and synths and an external USB controller such as Akai’s own MPK Mini to control the MPC One’s internal instruments. If you have a synth or another drum machine that you want to sequence alongside the One, you can use the full-size MIDI In & Out ports or 4 CV/Gate ports for your Eurorack modules.
With all this connectivity onboard, the MPC One is primed to become the anchor point of your studio.
As of software 2.8, the MPC One can be used as an incredible MIDI sequencer that can simultaneously connect and route every piece of MIDI-enabled hardware in your setup. From MIDI interfaces to USB - CV modules to class-compliant USB keyboards to hardware synths, the MPC One’s deep internal MIDI routing make it an ideal central hub.
Space Onboard
Akai ship the MPC One with 4GB of internal Micro SD storage as standard and you can import your own samples & sounds hassle-free using the USB thumb drive input & SD Card slot.
Splice Up Your Life
If you’re a Splice user, you’ll love the MPC One’s native integration with it. Because Splice is embedded within the MPC One, you can instantly access your library straight from the interface. If you’re not a Splice user, you’re missing out on a vast range of fantastic royalty-free samples, loops, presets and sounds from a wide range of genres.
Whether you’re using the Akai MPC One Music Production Centre as the mainstay of your studio or as a highly compact standalone suite that you can use to produce on the go, you’re bound to be inspired by this incredible music production centre that more than lives up to the MPC legacy.
